PAIR IT WITH DAIRY
Prince Edward Island isn't just the home of incredible, high-quality dairy products; it's also the home of many amazing food and beverage brands. From craft beer to wine, seafood to pizza, there is something for everyone on Canada's Food Island. Dairy Farmers of PEI seek to explore exactly how you can pair Island dairy products with fellow local vendors in Pair it with Dairy.
Blue Mussel Café
The Blue Mussel Café is regarded as one of the top restaurants on PEI. It prides itself on providing customers with fresh, local seafood harvested from the picturesque waters that surround the restaurant on the North Rustico Harbour.
We visited Steve Murphy, one of the owners and operators of the Blue Mussel, as he showcased his remarkably fresh PEI Mussels made using ADL butter.
Matos Winery
Nestled in the rolling hills along the scenic Clyde River, Matos Winery offers award-winning wine using grapevines imported directly from France.
We enlisted the help of Lesley Quinn, owner and operator of StellarSomm Wine Experts, to show us a perfect wine and cheese pairing utilizing both a red and white wine. She picked products from COWS and ADL to help you with an all-local charcuterie night!
Lone Oak Brewery
Are there two items that go together better than craft beer and poutine? We think not.
Squeakies Cheese Curds are locally made right here in Prince Edward Island by Fromagerie PEI. We took their cheesy goodness to Lone Oak Brewery in Borden-Carleton and paired it with their classic Fixed Link Pilsner!
Newman Estate Winery
One of Prince Edward Island's hidden treasures can be found just outside Murray River! Newman Estate Winery is producing high-quality wine products in King's County.
Lesley Quinn from StellarSomm Wine Experts joined us for a morning at the vineyard, exploring the area and pairing their products with incredible Island dairy from COWS Creamery!
