Up next, for our Behind the Barn feature, we're introducing Steve Reeves of Reeves Farms Inc. Steve farms with his wife Jessica, mother Kate, and father Farrell in Freetown, PEI.
They've been dairy farming for generations, with Steve's children being the seventh generation on the farm. They milk cows using a parlour system and house 75% of the herd in free stalls, while the rest are in straw packs. Steve enjoys the business side of farming, as well as ensuring the cows reach their potential through comfort and health. He believes there's no better place to grow up or raise a family than on the farm. Having his parents’ house on the same driveway as his, and his kids being comfortable running in and out of both houses is very special.
