Next up on Behind the Barn is Gordon MacBeath from Goldenflo Holsteins in Marshfield! A 5th generation dairy farmer, Gordon, along with his son Chris, their families, and dedicated team, produce over 1.2 million liters of high-quality milk annually. They take pride in their attention to detail, ensuring the cows are healthy, well-fed, and productive.
Goldenflo Holsteins is also known for their top-tier genetics, breeding award-winning cows and heifers. At the 2024 Royal Winter Fair TD Classic 4-H Championship, they bred two class winners, including the champion calf! And as part of Holstein Canada's 100th anniversary celebrations, Goldenflo was ranked #9 in the country with 217 homebred excellent cows!
Gordon believes there are endless opportunities in the dairy industry, whether directly on the farm or as a service provider. Agriculture will always be a vital part of PEI and Canada, offering great people and great places the chance to play a role in feeding Canadians. For Gordon and his family, it’s all about working with exceptional cows, producing high-quality milk, and enjoying time with loved ones.
