CHARLOTTETOWN, PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND - Dairy Farmers of PEI are extremely excited to announce that following a contest completed at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Auxiliary to recognize the efforts of healthcare workers, the organization will be making a $5000 cash donation to the Auxiliary.
The campaign began with a contest held at Lillibet's Gift Shop, the Royal Pantry, and the Royal Pantry Coffee Stand in the Hospital. Any time a healthcare worker made a purchase, they were invited to fill out a ballot to win one of five Dairy Baskets each worth $100. Each basket contained products from each of the five PEI dairy processors; ADL, Purity Dairy, COWS, Glasgow Glen Farms, and Fromagerie PEI. Over 1500 ballots were cast in a ten-day period; the lucky winners were Katie McCarthy, Alyssa Biggar, David Hood, Jill Larkin, and Jessica Bernard.
The $5000 donation will be used to benefit the hospital in accordance with the mandate of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Auxiliary.
Dairy Farmers of PEI are proud to support Island healthcare workers, who have given so much to the public throughout the course of the COVID-19 pandemic and continue to do so.
