Animal Health Starts on the Farm

 On-Farm Feed Mixing    


The Atlantic Johne's Disease Initiative (AJDI) is a voluntary program for the Dairy Farmers of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland and Labrador, in partnership with Maritime Quality Milk at the Atlantic Veterinary College. The program provides education and assistance to Atlantic dairy farmers to assess and address Johne's on their farms. For more information about the program please visit the Atlantic Johne's Disease Initiative Website

Dairy Farmers of Canada and the National Farm Animal Care Council have collaborated with scientists and government experts and the Canadian Federation of Humane Societies to update and strengthen the Code of Practice for the Care and Handling of Dairy Cattle. The Code meets or exceeds the majority of the standards of humane livestock treatment expected by the food industry and society.
